Description of Activities and Technologies
While learning letter sounds, students will create a digital page for each sound by creating a digital book in Canva, Visme, or another avaiable free site. Students will create a list of at least words, with or without assistance, that begin with the phonic sound. (Higher level students can list more than 2 words.) The students will use their IPads to go on a "scavenger hunt" on campus to find items and/or people that correspond with the letters that they learned. All items that they put into their book must be labeled. They may also bring photos from home. Teacher will model how the scavenger hunt works and gently guide the students to find their own items, but students will be encouraged to collect the correct corresponding sound items through discovery. Once all 26 letter sounds are complete, students will present their digital book to the class. They will discuss how their books are alike and different. They will also be able to print out their “book” and take home,
